As companies look to the future of a hybrid work environment, the OSHA general duty clause to provide a safe workplace for all employees involves more than cybersecurity and ergonomics.

    Statistics show us that:

-1 in 5 adults is a current victim of physical, sexual, or psychological abuse

-25-40% of all workplace violence is DV related

-Roughly 18,000 acts of DV in the workplace each year (1 in 4)

Domestic violence effects the motivation, productivity, and morale of all employees, not only the victim. As business owners and leaders, there are things that can, should, and must be done to support employees. Making the effort in the workplace to address domestic violence is a win-win both for employees and companies.

This working workshop will start with a presentation from Kelly Sayre, Founder and President of The Diamond Arrow Group and Melinda Gau, Attorney at Law, Quinlivan & Hughes, PA. The presentation will be an overview of considerations for updating an emergency preparedness plan, including the topic of domestic violence, and the current legal considerations for employers in Minnesota.

After the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to work on their company's current plan, while having the ability to ask other attendees and the presenters questions and get answers in real time.

At the end of the 4 hour session, attendees will have an updated plan ready for review and approval at their company. This workshop brings clarity and guidance to the overwhelming and sometimes confusing information online and provides resources for legal, insurance, and training contacts going forward.

This working workshop is hosted by The Diamond Arrow Group and sponsored by VictimsVoiceMahowald, and Quinlivan & Hughes P.A.

A portion of proceeds will be donated to VictimsVoice so they can provide their technology to DV victims in need.
