From time to time employers will need to perform an investigation of a complaint or an incident involving employees or the workplace. Such investigations, depending on how they are conducted, may be the key to avoiding a lawsuit, or the cause of protracted litigation. This program will cover the basics for conducting an effective investigation.

About the speaker:
Melinda Sanders is an attorney with the Quinlivan & Hughes law firm, based in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Quinlivan & Hughes offers a wide array of legal services, from business and employment law, to estate planning and real estate. The firm is also well-respected for its trial and appellate work. In 2018, Quinlivan & Hughes will celebrate its 95th anniversary.
Melinda has been practicing law since 1994, representing andadvising employers on employment law issues, including hiring and firing, leaves of absence, discrimination, reasonable accommodation, performance management, and handbooks, policies, and contracts. Melinda also investigates claims of discrimination and harassment, and educates employees, supervisors, and human resource professionals on various employment laws and workplace best practices.
