Central Minnesota Society for Human Resource Management (CMSHRM) is a group of human resource professionals who are committed to promoting professional development, networking for constructive ideas. This organization provides members with awareness on matters that affect the human resource profession. CMSHRM membership is available to people who work full-time in the Human Resource profession and small business owners who fulfill the HR role within their business. In addition, consultants, professors, and attorneys who counsel and advise students or clients on matters relating to the HR profession are welcome to join.
CMSHRM is an affiliate chapter of the National SHRM organization. CMSHRM has earned the prestigious Superior Merit Award for its accomplishments from 1992 through 2010, consecutively. This award recognizes excellence in chapter operations and a commitment to providing meaningful programs and services to its members.
I am honored to be in a leadership role with CMSHRM. This organization dates back to 1973 and as I review the names of past presidents I see a list of strong community leaders, many whom I am privileged to know personally.
Our community has seen a lot of changes over the years, some years with tremendous growth, some years with more challenges. As we look to 2012, our hope for our CMSHRM members is to Learn, Share and Grow together!
Learn – With continued strong programming at CMSHRM meetings, we anticipate the opportunity to continue our Human Resources learning. We learn from each other via networking, we learn from our meeting presentations and we learn from the many online resources available to us.
Share – My experience with CMSHRM has been greatly enhanced since I was first invited to participate as a volunteer leader on the Board of Directors. Relationships are so much richer, the information sharing so much greater and the friendship so much stronger because of the collaboration we do as a board. My hope for the CMSHRM membership is that you find opportunity to share knowledge and experience with others to enhance your experience.
Grow – Personal and professional growth opportunities abound within our local Chapter. CMSHRM is “connected” to the community, to legal updates, and to its members. We are actively involved with the St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce, we stay connected to the legislative and legal updates, we post training and workshop events and we share job openings on our website. Members can learn how to become certified as an HR professional (PHR or SPHR) and can gain credits for re-certification by attending our monthly meetings.
If you would like to sign up for our monthly newsletter, please click here. We also invite you to join our Linked ingroup to share your HR questions, concerns and knowledge.
Nonmembers may also attend one meeting complimentary to see CMSHRM in action. If you are interested in attending a meeting, please contact us.
Thank you for interest in CMSHRM and for visiting our site!
Sincerely,
Tammy Anhalt-Warner
